Well, now I feel like a coward. When you posted that you were not happy with how the kitchen was coming together, I wanted to say that I liked the cabinets, and it was the tile that wasn't working, but I thought that would just be mean because there was no way the tile was going anywhere. Was I wrong! You are indeed brave! Most people would not be able to let go of something they loved and worked so hard on. The new tile is perfect! Yet another vote for how you share the whole process. Seeing you rip something out should give many diy'ers courage to do the same!

Just seconding everyone's comments commending you on the fearlessness it takes to rip up something you've just spent time & money on. Perfect example of why this blog is so amazing. It's real life & totally relatable amid so many that are the exact opposite. We know it'll be amazing! Can't wait!!

Yes!! That's what I was thinking!! That wallpaper is amazing... and probably The Nug's original, right? Even if just salvaging a bit for a frame or something, I feel like it's earned a spot! As if it's mine to say... =)

Good for you for having the guts to pull it out once you felt that it wasn't working. I agree that the penny tile just didn't jive with the feel of the rest of the trailer, but for my money, the problem was the grout color more than the tile selection. I would recommend that next time you make some sample boards and try out different color grouts before finishing your new installation.

Seems like everyone's excited to see what's coming! I, also wasn't fond of the penny tile and can't wait to see what you put in place of it. This project is pretty freaking awesome and I'm loving all the real time blogging you have been doing on projects. It's nice to know that even someone as awesome as you are still doesn't get it right the first time every time! Can't wait to see more. Keep up the awesome work!!

Been there, done that. About 4 months after I repainted the whole basement, I just couldn't stand it. Needed a white that was even "whiter". My husband rolled his eyes as I brought out the painting stuff again, bought more paint, yadda yadda. Even he agrees now that it was the totally right thing to have done. I think it is a secure person who can admit that something needs tweeked.

Ermmmm. Is it just me but how awesome is that wallpaper that you've just exposed & unleashed there? I know some of it looks a bit tired but surely you can preserve this in some way? Whitewash or paint in some missing bits - heck paint in some missing petals bright pink and make it a piece of art! Chuck some glass up over it and there you have it. Easy option I think:-) Xx ps, love your style.
