I don’t think any portion of the purchase price goes to the families. When you make your purchase you are given the option at checkout to add any amount you choose to donate to the family. At the end of the month the family receives a gift basket with one of each item featured that month along with a check for the total amount that customers donated. Hope that helps. I found the info in the website’s FAQ page. I was wondering about that too!
