One of the first projects that we did when we bought the Merc, even before renovations began, was updating the detached garage.

If you’ve ever wondered if pinky beige and forest green look great together, let me just permanently sear this image into your mind.

Sorry not sorry.

We attacked it with all of the love and Mandi White paint we could get our hands on and it turned out SIGNIFICANTLY better. To this day, every time my father in law comes over he asks if we’re sure we didnt replace the garage doors because he cant believe how much better they look. (You can see more of the process here)

So even though the outside was spruced up and looking fly (yes, I just said that, I’m also embarrassed for myself) the inside was rough. We’re talking raw cinderblock, wires, and 2 of these ancient relic garage door openers.

That we of course didnt have remotes for. In fact, I dont even know if they made remotes. I’m pretty sure that the way you opened them remotely was to throw a rock at a dinosaur that then started walking in a circle around a huge wooden gear-Flintstones style.

Do you think I’m joking? The garage doors didnt even lock! We had to use a metal rod that Court stole off of one of my hoards to keep them secure. #primitive

When Chamberlain reached out about installing one of their new Chamberlain B1381 Corner to Corner Lighting LED Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, the thought of being able to park in the garage brought tears to my eyes! All of you Southwest-ites can attest to the indescribable pain of trying to drive with a steering wheel that will take your fingerprints off because it’s so hot. We also (obviously) use the garage as our workshop so functional doors and new lighting is just helpful all around.

The Biggest Difference: Lighting

Just for funsies, look at the difference between the lighting with our old opener and the new Chamberlain. (I know it’s a different spot, Court very enthusiastically took down one of the old openers when I told him we were getting a new one before I could get a proper before and after. I’m pretty sure that means I get an automatic fail on my blogger card.)

This is our old one. I SWEAR on my whole life that this is not one of those magic photoshopped pictures.

It is the exact same conditions in both pictures.

I’m not entirely convinced that if I pulled into the garage with the old light on that I would be able to make out if there was someone there trying to steal all of our wood scraps! I’m also not entirely convinced that it wouldn’t spark and catch the whole dang place on fire. It’s like the Cave of Wonders in there!!

BUT LOOK AT THIS MAGIC!

With the new Chamberlain LED opener, we could go into full on project mode at 2 am! Get excited neighbors!! Most garage lights use standard bulbs that put out between 450-1100 lumens depending on the wattage (lumens is the way that the amount of light output is measured. The higher the number the brighter the light.)

In comparison Chamberlain’s built-in Corner to Corner lighting system puts out a whopping 3,100 lumens-0evenly distributing daylight-like lighting to fill the entire garage! The diodes are also extremely long lasting, so you’ll likely never have to replace them!

Smart Home Tech Standard

We LOVE smart home tech at the Merc, and this garage door opener is no exception. It has a built in Wi-Fi powered by myQ technology that allows you to open and close your garage door from anywhere. Great if you’re like us and always lending out tools.

Other smart home features:

Receive real-time alerts when your garage door opens and close. Know when the kids are home from school, when your husband is hiding from the family, or when your teenager tries to sneak the car out.

Set daily schedules for the garage door to close. I love the idea of having it automatically close every evening at sundown. Just to be sure that everything is locked up tight. How many times have you walked outside in the morning to find that when your kids parked their bikes they didnt close the garage door?

Customize how your myQ-connected garage door opener and lights interact with your other favorite smart devices and home automation platforms. Get enhanced features such as voice control, location-based closing or being able to control myQ via a partner app.

Chamberlain Group and Amazon recently teamed up to offer In-Garage Delivery in 37 cities. I’ve never wanted to live in a large city more.

Aside from its smart home capabilities, we’ll also enjoy the convenience of a built-in battery backup system that enables our opener to work during power outages, so we can still get in and out in case of emergency.

Install was easy and almost entirely a one man job, as evidenced below. When Court started pulling all of the parts out of the box he said “Welp, this is going to be an instruction reading project” and we all know how he feels about following instructions. But it was super easy to follow and he had it done in about an hour.

If you are sick of living in the dark ages of garage doors (hahaha get it!??) you have got to check out Chamberlain’s LED garage door opener with Corner to Corner lighting. You can find where they are available in your area and online by checking out their website here!

And just because I cant believe it myself, let’s have another before and after…

Don’t you just want to break into the chorus of “You light up my life”? I think we’ll need to get Court on that. Learn where to get your own here!

Hey hey!! I’m back today with all the delicious details of the guest room makeover I did for my sister Amy! Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I wish there was more DIY involved, but this was done totally weekend warrior style so while there is some, a lot of it can be sourced (which is great if you’re not that into DIY.)

First lets start with the wall color. Last week we announced that Sherwin-Williams 2018 Color of the Year is Oceanside. Its a really deep teal that’s a little bit on the blueish side.

I recruited my best helpers (sorry Court) and we knocked the painting out. One thing to note, when you’re using really dark colors, especially ones that are in the green family, you’re definitely going to need more than one coat of paint, with Amy’s room we did 2 + touchups where it needed more.

The dark wall was the perfect backdrop for the Macrame bed. For the last year, even trip to IKEA left me wanting this bed. It was just screaming for a custom macrame headboard right?!

bed | sconce | shelf | tree | pillow | light | rug | stool

While we were at IKEA we scored the cabinet in the As-Is section for next to nothing!

letter board | print | mirror | chair | pillow | cabinet

The mirror above the cabinet is the most basic of Target staples right now and I’m of the belief that everyone needs at least 2 in their house. The thin brass frame is just so fundamentally good. Like most weekend warrior projects, we did some scavenging and found these prints that Amy had on hand from Society 6.

My heart just feels so happy with how great our Vintage Green letter board looks here!!

One of my favorite places to visit in Vegas is the West Elm outlet store. That’s where she got the great camel leather chair and a few things that are in the other rooms of the house. You can find really great pieces at fantastic prices, so check it our if you’re ever down there.

I LOVE white bedding. Like I don’t know if I’ve ever used anything else in a room makeover love. The reason? Because in what world would you be able to pair that wall color with that pillow AND have a colored duvet and live to tell the tale? It would not be a good combination. White makes it all play nice. I layered white sheets, a white throw, and a white duvet on the bed (all from IKEA).

The long lumbar pillow is made from a rug that got stuffed and whip stitched together. It grounds the wall with its muted muddy colors. Imagine how different it would feel if they were bright true tones? Totally different!! I also really love that its a single statement making pillow instead of a slew of different ones, it makes the bed making for guests less tetris-y.

One thing to keep in mind when you’re decorating guest room is that they don’t really need a lot of drawers. There is a closet at the foot of the bed, and the cabinet from IKEA, so we didn’t really need a nightstand. But we did need something. So used this simple shelf from Target that is a great place for a cup, a pair of glasses, or a phone to hang out while it charges.

I feel like we need a serious slow clap for that wall sconce from World Market, which is also where the ceiling light came from. So much goodness.

You may have heard it said on the interwebs before that the faux fiddle leaf from World Market is the best. I am here to add my big fat gold star that situation. It is HANDS DOWN the best that I’ve seen, and the price isn’t horrible! A real one in St. George at my local Home Depot runs anywhere from $79-$149 and usually dies within 4 months. This one is $179 and lives FOREVER!

The map on the wall was a craigslist score, the seller had a whole rack of them that I got for $350!! If I ever decide to sell a couple, you guys will be the first to know!

I love how this space turned out, especially that macrame bed. It is one of my favorite projects that I’ve done in a very long time!! The problem is that I just kind of made it up as I went, so I don’t really have a great tutorial for it. Would you guys be interested in a post with a round up of the knot styles that I used, even if its not the exact pattern? Or MAYBE if someone is a great macrame artist that makes patterns, you can email me and we can figure something out!?

Today is one of those days if you’re a DIYer who loves pipe decor.

Home Depot just launched a line of black pipe that is made to use as decor (vs. using it for heavy duty plumbing/electrical work) and it.is.AWESOME.

As someone who’s worked with pipe many a time (like my kitchen table!) I can tell you that there are 3 big downsides.

The grease. Traditional pipe pieces have some heavy duty grease on them that is a HUGE pain to remove.

2. The cost. Traditional pipe pieces aren’t cheap, especially things like Flanges (they’ll run you a little more than $7.00 a piece)

3. The FREAKING STICKERS. I don’t know why, or how, but I’m pretty sure that the price stickers are permanently attached to the pipe in freaky superhuman ways. We’re talking the glue that they use should just be unleashed into the San Andreas fault line; then all of California can breathe a little easier knowing they now have nothing to worry about if an earthquake hits.

The line, LDR’s Black Pipe decor is created specifically for projects. They know you’re going to use it in pretty project ways which means, no grease, no stickers, and the price per piece is substantially less.

The best part is that aside from the individual pieces, they also have preassembled kits to make their most popular projects!

I used a coat rack kit and a few extra pieces to make this wall sconce!! I really wanted something hefty and I think I achieved it!

So cute right?! Hop over to The Home Depot Blog to get the step by step tutorial on how to make your own! There are also a bunch of other tutorials if you need something less beefy!

Man, thanks for all of the love on Aspyn’s room makeovers, it was such a fun project and I’m so glad that you guys love it!! Lets get started with the tutorials shall we? Up first is the rope wrapped swag light. I have been DYING to do this project for months and just hadn’t gotten around to it. Aspyn’s living room was the perfect place because she only had one overhead light and we didn’t have loads of room for end tables + table lamps.

To make this light you’ll need two wire lampshades from the thrift store that are the same size. The uglier the better (cause I’m on a mission to rid the world of offensive shades and together WE CAN DO IT!!!) The one thing that you need to make sure of is that it has a wire skeleton inside. There are a lot of shades that are made with rigid plastic, those won’t work.

When you remove the fabric/plastic coverings this is what you should have:

The next step is to use a strong adhesive to glue the shades together. I used e6000, but anything that can work on metal will be perfecto!

I used small clamps to hold the shades while the glue set (totally optional)

And then wrapped it with floral wire. Don’t stress if you don’t have clamps, just wrap it with the wire from the get go and it will be great!

The next step is to start wrapping your rope. I used white Masonry line from Home Depot. It has a little bit of a sheen and looks so good! I used 5 spools of it (which I was SHOCKED about). When I was wrapping it I put it over the outside of the wire wrapped section every time I passed over it.

Turn on your favorite show and go to town! Total wrapping time was about 2.5 hours.

Once it was wrapped, I used a hot glue gun to secure the places that I had to start the rope so that it wouldn’t shift or slide.

Up next is to install the light kit. Just follow the instructions on the packaging and attach it to the center of your lamp shade!

To add a little bit of flair I made a tassel and added wooden beads. I would have loved to wire it to be a pulldown chain but I don’t love the idea of constantly pulling on a light that is hanging from the ceiling, so I just tied it to the top of the shade and its adorable and totally not functional.

You guys! I’m so excited to share this fun dining room makeover with you!! Before you keep scrolling I want you to close your eyes (I mean, not really ‘cause you have to read, but pretend to close your eyes.)

Picture Home Depot (just go with me on this). Picture all of the things that Home Depot is known for. Now buckle your seatbelt ‘cause you’re about to be blown away.

I’ve had the pleasure of teaming up with Youtube darling Aspyn Ovard for a complete overhaul of her house.

When we started out with not a lot. If you remember, her house is a new build and you could tell. In other words it was very basic and very empty. Her style is young, fresh, and a little mixed bohemian. I wanted the space to feel clean, eclectic, nothing super structured, formal, or traditional. Full of life, yet still calm. Tall order? Maybe.

Are you ready to see it now? EEEEE! This is my favorite part!!

Have you ever dug into the furniture that Home Depot has on their site? YOU. GUYS. They have an entire sister company called Home Decorators Collection and it is SO good!! In fact, everything in this room makeover is from Home Depot!! I know what you’re thinking. The Midcentury table? YES! The Modern Wire chairs? YES! That KILLER rug?!?!! YESSSSSS!!! (Don’t worry, I’ll link everything below!)

We took a few hours at the beginning and tiled the backsplash with basic white subway tile that your local Home Depot will have in stock (remember how I’m currently obsessed with that?) It immediately took the builder basic feel away. This is a great post all about choosing the right grout color for your project!

The next project of the space was the Sharpie wall. Who doesn’t love a project that looks like custom wallpaper but only cost $8.00?

Then it was time to decorate. Aspyn’s house is like so many others. It’s got an open floorplan and the dining room is part of the kitchen so I feel like loads of you can take this makeover and plop it right into your own home. It can be little overwhelming to decorate a space especially if you are a first time homeowner like Aspyn, I mean where do you even start?!

Their original table was cute and simple but a little small for the space and the wood tone was too similar to the flooring. I swapped it out with the Conrad dining room table from Home Depot. I love the midcentury modern style and that the finish is a little warmer than the previous table but still staying on the slightly desaturated side with the antique natural mango wood finish. (Oh yes, and this heirloom piece is currently on sale for $399!!)

Because I upped the table size, it now comfortable fits 6 instead of closely sitting 4 which is perfect for entertaining!

The chairs are killer! I love brass, but I’m kind of really digging chrome lately and these pushed me over the edge!

Let’s just have a heart to heart about this rug. Guys. It’s amazing, right? One of the easiest mistakes to make when you’re decorating a dining room is the rug size. Large rugs are more expensive, but if a huge kilim is out of your budget try to layer a large and inexpensive one underneath it (sisal works great for this!) I really wanted a large sheepskin but wasn’t able to track one down (like that’s ever stopped me) so I ordered this flokati off of Home Decorators Collection and made my own by cutting the shape out.

I wanted the table decor to be something that was pretty and collected and easy to move so I put these bottles on a vintage wooden platter.

Aspyn previously had some stools at the island, but they sort of just blended in with the cabinets and countertop situation so I swapped them out for these stackable aluminum stools.

Speaking of aluminum, I added these spun aluminum lights above the island. I’m really loving the juxtaposition that’s happening in this space with the uber modern shapes and finishes and the relaxed slouchy style of others.

The back wall needed something large and simple to break up the wall pattern and finish everything off. I waited and hunted for weeks and just couldn’t find anything that was right so at the last minute (‘cause that’s how we roll) I called my friend Tyler and asked him if he had a picture of the tips of the mountains in St. George. I had it blown up and then mounted it on a simple 4×4 sheet of plywood from The Home Depot. It’s pretty perfect right!? Just the right amount of white space. You can snag it in the Vintage Revivals Shop here!

The last thing that the space needed was some plant love. If your house is lacking something and you can’t put your finger on it, chances are you need a plant friend or 2. Home Depot is the best place to buy plants, especially if you have a black thumb because they will return them for a year!! Granted it’s a little shameful to take in a pot of dirt but I promise they don’t get judgy about it.

Here’s a quick guide to all things dining room:

Remember ages ago when I made this geometric light for The Nugget and never posted a tutorial? Yes. Me too. I have guilt about it daily. When I was planning the projects for Fearless DIY this one was the first on my list. I was DYING to show you how to DIY this simple light. Then it took a lot longer to release the episodes than originally planned (you can see my baby bump poking out) but TODAY IS THE DAY!!

This project is actually so simple that I was able to fit the entire tutorial in an episode. So head over and check it out!

Happy Friday!! I have been on pins and needles for a month to tell you guys about this project. Settle in cause there is loads of info and inspiration!

One of the biggest hurdles that comes up in my DIYin’ adventures is being able to create the things in my mind. Sometimes little projects (that I’m suuuuper excited about) feel like inventing the hover board. The idea is solid. The actual how to? Mmmmm. Not so solid. Technology is getting crazier by the day, so when the opportunity came up to experiment on the HP Sprout I was all over it. Anything to help these ideas come to life is a-ok with me.

The HP Sprout is an all in one desktop computer that is pushing the limits of what you can do with a home computer. It has the ability to 3D scan almost anything that you can put in front of it. Seriously. Can you even imagine the project possibilities? Let alone the parent referee potential (oh you both want this discontinued Littlest Pet Shop? Let me just duplicate it and then maybe you’ll stop fighting?) Below is the first thing that I scanned and printed. Its a mini replica of this cute salt shaker that I found at Target.

Adorable? Absolutely, the girls have already taken it over for the above mentioned Littlest Pet Shops.

But aside from miniaturizing something, there has got to me more right?!

Oh-ho-ho my friend, you have no idea. We all love a good cactus, but unfortunately sometimes we love them so much that we kill them…with love. I scanned a cactus cutting using the Sprout (its mesmerizing!)

Then I was able to take that scan, and by duplicating it and manipulating the dimensions, I made a whole new cactus.

Once it was right I sent it over to my Dremel IdeaBuilder and printed it out.

My experience with 3D printing was zero. I mean, unless you count the Grey’s Anatomy episode with the dramatic human organ printing situation. I had NO IDEA what to expect. Would it be hard?! Would it take 46 hours?! Would it look stupid?! Is it loud?! You know, the real questions. For real questions I have real answers. It was not hard. Each element that I printed took about 4 hours. There are very light surface lines that can easily be sanded smooth with 300+ grit sandpaper. The printer is very quiet. And its sort of musical. Lots of my projects stared printing during one of my all too frequent 3:30 insomnia-fests.

When the little guys were done printing I glued them to a lit and stuck it inside a terracotta planter.

Now I have this adorable cactus that cant be killed!! (The OG cactus clipping is there for comparison!)

Cool right?

Ok so, when I say this next project has been years in the making I am not exaggerating at all. For the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to make these bauble lights that lived in my brain. I knew they needed some show stopping geometric pieces but making them out of wood only resulted in an unrecognizable wonkfest and a very real fear of cutting my fingers off with the saw. I tried paper, ceramic, concrete and time and time again it was just wrong.

I knew that the Sprout could make my dreams come true, but it didn’t happen in the way that I expected. Originally I created the pentagon shape with paper and tried scanning it, but because the shape was perfectly symmetrical no matter what I did, there was always a side missing (by rotating the item during multiple scans it can typically capture all sides.) The Sprout cameras work sort of like an ultrasound, though the picture on your screen comes up with photograph like colors, it doesn’t sense those (I tried marking different patterns on each side to combat the blank spaces. Ultimately because the shape was exactly the same on all sides it just wasn’t going to work, it needs variation to put the puzzle pieces together.

I was bummed. But motivated.

This project was happening come hell or high water.

Fortunately the folks at HP customer support are fantastic and told me about an app called MeshMixer. There are literally THOUSANDS of free project patterns that you can download and create with. That is how I finally got my geo-shapes.

MeshMixer is relatively simple to learn, though I’m sure I’ve just scratched the surface. I was able to make the shapes exactly like I wanted them, with a hole down the center and all. I printed my shapes (Court asked if I was printing a Madonna bra when he saw the cones. That man is full of great ideas.)

To finish the lights I drilled holes into some wooden spheres from the craft store. (I totally could have printed those too, I was just itching for some wooden contrast)

I also gave some of them a quick coat of natural wood stain (it made a huge difference in the color!)

After the stain was dry, I strung all of the white 3D printed pieces + the wooden beads onto my favorite twisted lamp wire and wired the light sockets.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they turned out.

I want to make 5 million.

My mind is absolutely racing with all of the project possibilities. From functional, like scanning and printing missing hardware from a thrifted dresser. To completely creative like wall art full of different types of succulents, because lets face it: who can actually keep those living walls alive?

The crazy thing is, this is just one side of the HP Sprout, my girls love drawing and painting on it, and there are a bunch of great apps for kids to unleash their creative genius.

3D printing isn’t just for Meredith Grey and Dungeons and Dragons fanatics anymore, its for everyone.

To get more ideas, and see how other creatives are knocking this technology out of the park check them out here! And we put together a quick video so that you can see the Sprout in action!

So this tutorial could not be more simple. I am telling you guys, these giant macramé rope lights will change.your.life. they are that good.

So when I say giant, I mean HA-UUGE.. Not just the rope, the light bulbs too.

The knot for this project is as easy as can be. Its a great way to be productive AND watch Netflix because once your hands get the memory down you can sort of go on autopilot.

You’ll need:

Rope or Cording (make sure you use a coupon!)*
Lamp Cord
Socket Kit
Small Vessel (that can be drilled into)
Glue

*So don’t throw things at me, but I’m not sure how much cording to tell you to buy. Let me explain. For the huge rope, I bought 35 yards ($1.49/yd) and it easily covered 15 feet of lamp cord. For the smaller one I bought 40 yards ($.59/yd) and it covered 8 feet. Obviously the thickness plays a massive factor in how far it goes. The good news is that you can use clear tape to connect the ends together if you need to add more and you’ll never see them (also make sure that you use at least a 40% off coupon at JoAnn when you are buying it.)

Start by securing your lamp wire. For pictures I have it taped to a wall, in real life you’ll want to tie it around something like a chair back or doorknob to keep it stable.

Find the center of your cording and place it behind the lamp wire.

Take the left side and put it over the front of the lamp wire.

And under the right side of the cord creating a small loop on the left side of your lamp wire.

Then take the right cord and place it behind the lamp wire.

Pull the entire length of it through the small loop that you created on the left side of the lamp wire.

Repeat your little heart out. As you are creating more and more knots the design will start to spiral. As long as you are starting with the left side and taking it over the top of the lamp wire the spiral will go in the same direction. If you take the right side over, or put the left side under the spiral will switch directions and you’ll have to undo the knots.

Pretty soon it’ll start to look like this:

Once all of my knots were done it was time to wire the socket. You can do this before you start knotting if you want, its completely up to you.

For your socket cover you’ll need some sort of cup or planter. For my lights I used a thrifted copper cup and a clearance plastic cup from Target that I spray painted white. But you can use anything! A wooden bowl, a ceramic planter, really the sky is the limit!

Start by drilling a hole into the bottom of your cup.

Then attach the treaded nipple to the socket base (make sure that you tighten the little screw on the side so that your socket doesn’t unscrew when you are twisting the light bulb!)

Put the washer, then the cup, then the socket base onto your lamp wire.

Attach the socket according to the instructions provided.

Then screw the washer onto the threaded nipple.

Slide your rope up (this the the only adjustment that you wont have to do if you wire your socket before you start on your knots) and around the end of the threaded nipple. Glue in place.

Ta Da!!

Now for the details on the giant light bulbs. Man oh man are they the stuff of legend.

I found them at a light bulb store when we were in LA but after some internet sleuthing, I found the best prices at School House Electric (way better than what we got them for)

Did I mention that they are massive?

So here is the thing. A light blub that big, its not just a bulb. Its the entire light. So while they aren’t cheap (around $40.00) they are freaking showstoppers.

Last week we took a last minute whirlwind trip to LA to fix up my Brother in Law’s new apartment. Like most rentals, it was a beige wonderland. Complete with vertical blinds, popcorn ceilings and oatmeal carpet.

The original plan was to throw a few new rugs and pillows down and maybe add a little bit of art. Um. That didn’t happen. Instead we packed everything we possibly could into the time we had there and worked our butts off.

He had a few good staple pieces of furniture (like the couch from West Elm) and the rustic wood kitchen table but that was about it.

I’ve learned a few things in my DIYin’ days the most important being, you are going to pay with your time, or you are going to pay with your money. There were a million projects that I would have LOVED to DIY in this makeover but 3 days just wasn’t enough time to pull them off. So the good news is that if you aren’t really a DIYer you can duplicate so much of this room because its all for sale! (I will link everything below) We did do a few projects though, so watch for tutorials throughout the rest of the week!

Just a reminder, this is where we started.

This is what it looks like now:

Wall Mirror | Fringe Pillow | White and Gray Tribal Pillow

We decided to flip the couch and divide the big room into 2 smaller spaces.

One of the biggest struggles with such a fast turn around is that ordering things online wasn’t an option, we were limited to what was available in store at that moment. Our main shopping sources were World Market, Target, CB2, Homegoods, IKEA, and the flea market. I feel like everything that we bought was really affordable.

The second that I saw that orange and grayish tribal rug I knew it would be so perfect in the room. The problem is that it wasn’t big enough to live underneath the couch and both of the chairs. The solution was to put an awesome geometric sisal underneath.

Sisal Rug | Orange Tribal Woven Rug

The chairs are literally my favorite thing in this entire space.

The cute little side table is a planter from IKEA with a wooden plate on top of it.

This giant wall was a killer. We knew that something needed to go there but we just could not for the life of us find anything! At the very last minute we found this shelf at a random furniture store. It’s the perfect size for the wall and the wall hanging (a table runner from target!) is such a great accent.

One of the easiest (and most effective) ways to customize a space is to update the lighting. In the dining area I took out that white monstrosity of a fan and replaced it with this super cute wicker pendant light. We took all of the blades off of the fan for easy storage and changing the light made it so we could center the whole room.

Alex already had the table and chairs so all we needed to do was add art and a rug.

I’ve seen this black and white watercolor buffalo picture floating around the internet and was super happy that it was in store. The flag we found at a vintage clothing store. Its got the perfect amount of fade on it.

Black and White Rug | Buffalo Print | White Pitcher | Gem Bowls

For art on the wall by the window I did this super quick brush stroke piece with black acrylic paint (tutorial here!). I didn’t want to add more color because the flag was plenty, so doing it in black and white was sort of a no brainer.

Wow that was a lot of pictures! But just for fun, here is a before and after again.
