We’re redoing our floors and I’ve been holding out for stained concrete but it’s going to cost 18k, so that’s a deterrent. I’m wondering how you got the design? How do I paint it so that it’s not just plain?

I know I’m not Mandi, but if I remember correctly they moved out of that house earlier last year! You can also search “faux bois” in her blog and you should get the tutorial for the wood grain. It’s pretty simple but looks really complicated- my kind of project, tbh. I hope this helps!!

I’m interested in doing something to my basement floor. While browsing through Pinterest I found your blog. I realize this is a few years old but, how does your floor look now? Would you paint again or do something different? How did you get the wood grain look?

I am considering this for our basement laundry room. I am wondering, now that it’s been several years, how the paint held up? Any trouble with chipping? Or scratching in the top coat from wear and tear?

If real hardwood floor sand and use a durable floor paint normally 2 coats but can do 3 coats . Ring Leyland’s or Brewers

Use a self levelling latex. Will run flush from threshold strip with a small gradient. May need to sand down using power sander with 60 grade sandpaper. U can hire a palm sander for about a tenner from tool hire shop
