I have been looking at getting one of the Schlage Smart locks but wondering whether to get the bottom lever with a lock or not. I see you have a lock on the lever. What was your thought process on going this way? I assume the two locks are keyed the same but that the bottom lock is not opened with the code? Are you just not planning on using the bottom lock most of the time?

I love the whole look of that back entrance SO MUCH that I’m commenting for the first time! The sloping of that cement pad is everything and the black is fantastic.

While I don’t have the same brand, I have a punch code lock. It is awesome! Especially since my hubby can’t seem to live his life without losing his keys on a monthly basis. ? We also gave it to the neighbor when we went out of town so he could take care of our dogs. I am digging the matte black on your door.

Coded locks are awesome! We got one after numerous lock outs (including one time my BIL was house sitting, he panicked and broke a window to get back in. Bye bye $150).

Looks fabulous! I have a Schlage keypad entry system on the door to my attached garage and absolutely love it. It’s extremely convenient, but more than that, it gives me peace of mind when I’m working outside, have the big garage doors open, and don’t want to carry my keys with me. I can lock the door into the house and be confident that the house is secure, without worrying that my keys will get buried in the mulch or leaf pile.
