2 years ago my then 9 year old daughter wrote "I Love Jake" in foot high letters in black permanent marker on her bedroom wall. I left it up and showed it to everyone that came over and embarrassed her so much she hasn't even thought of doing it again haha! I finally repainted her room in November - but man oh man I had to use SO many coats of primer on that spot!

I would take a pic of it and scan it, and put it on a pillow. My kids are all grown and have children of their own. I miss the days where they would scribble on walls, one day my son who was 3 at the time, got up early and covered his brother who was 2 and his sister who was 1 with jam. The little ones were in their cribs, it was 7 am and I was laying in bed listerning to them laugh and I thought they were just playing. It was quite the sight, all you could see were their eyes. They were all laughing and giggling, there was jam everywhere. Jam and crayon washes off and markers can be painted over, but they are little for such a short time. Encourage their creativity and cherish the funny moments, it goes by so quick. love the post, love your blog thank you so much for sharing

I don't know if you go back and read old comments once you've gotten on with your awesomeness, but I've got to go on record with this. I am old enough to be YOUR grandma, and your biggest fan, probably, so LISTEN. You have said before that you aren't into Art----I take issue with that because you have the eye and soul of an artist and I strongly suggest that you take some Art classes and educate your natural abilities. I wuld have bought one your Mexican folk art placemats, and I would buy your wall, or at least a print of that very wonderful line drawing---truly I would. (I'm having a hard time typing this on my new iPad--I'm a verry hip grannie, with not verey good skills so I'm not going back and correcting this--you understand, don't judge) Honestly, Dylan's drawing is excellent---Picasso would be jealous. Do not, I hope you haven't already, do not scrub it off. I don't know what to suggest, but she's not the only artist to have started out scribbling on walls. I'm doing "Art" with a capital "A" because I want you to look up the word in the dictionary and realize that you ARE an artist---don't be afraid of "ART". I think taking a college level class--say art appreciation, or whateverr they call it now----would be time well spent. You already know instinctivly about design, color, balance, etc. etc.-----your already formidable talent will only become even more incredible with time, education, maturing (not that you're immature), and paying attention to old ladies who only have your best interests at heart.

They are adorable! One day during naptime my son drew on his wall with crayons...it was really cute. It was also a year ago and they are still there! The colors are subtle on his wall and I can't bring myself to paint over them quite yet. These years fly by so fast. You should totally take a pic and frame it. So cute!
