Come on, go with your gut! You can do it and you know that it is going to look amazing. Stop second guessing your self! This isn't the confidant woman that I blog stalk!! :)

Since the patterns are all in different rooms, go a head with it! If it doesn't look good you can paint over it again. I will volunteer to come help!

I can’t get your picture out of my head, the one with the red desk and blue frames. I am about to start working on my niece’s bedroom and I want to use it for inspiration. I just went thru ALL of the blogs I follow and of course you are at the bottom of the list because you start with a V, but at least I found you! I LOOOOVVVVVEEEEE that wall!

Since you are worried about pattern overload and want to brighten the space… I would paint all the walls in the room a light-medium gray and then do the stencil in an almost white shade, or even better– a really pretty complimentary pale slate blue or something. The lines being the darker color COULD turn out well (you never know until you try!), but I’d be nervous about that. I’d go lines lighter. Good luck, can’t wait to see how it turns out!!

Just throwing an idea out there. If you’re worried about it being too crazy looking, if you use the same color paint, but paint the wall a flat or eggshell, then the stencil high gloss or probably even semi-gloss on flat paint, from a distance it’s just a solid wall, but then the stencil looks more like a texture rather than a contrasted wallpaper look. **I’ve only seen pictures, and never done it, but have wanted to try it out. love a stencil..maybe consider a tone on tone so it’s not such a contrast, easier on the eye so to speak, or use a gloss for the stencil and it will be shiney…just a thought

Do it!! I love your house – and would replicate every single thing you’ve done if it would work in this space I live, which it won’t, UNFORTUNATELY. But that white and black stripe? Awesome. My hubby would never let me do that. And the kids’ rooms? Incredible. And that stencil? Killer. So just go with it. Because you should take your advice. 🙂
