Debbie, I'm trying to figure out where you are coming from. Like you said, it may be a cultural thing. Do you not like that Sherwin Williams is donating paint to community projects? Is it that you don't think that paint is important in construction projects? Do poor areas where you are not use paint? I'm just curious because construction is different wherever you live. Even in the United States, the way buildings are constructed in the south is different than in the north. I just know that where I live (in Florida), paint is very, very important in construction. The building materials that are used need to be painted to seal and protect them from the elements. We get a lot of rain here and sometime hurricanes as well as all the sun. It is also humid here all the time so if a building isn't properly painted, you can have moisture seepage in your walls, develop mold and basically make the structure uninhabitable. Hope this helps you understand why Sherwin Williams is donating paint and why people are helping out with the cause.
