What is it about lofts that are just so cool? Maybe because they are usually in amazing cities? (Dudes there isn’t a cool loft or old studio space within 300 miles of southern Utah.) There is something so free spirited about them wouldn’t you agree?
So while I dream about a loft that I will probably never own (along with my pioneer house) I thought you might want to dream too!
Why cant giant brick pillars exist in my real life?
Love the plants, love the rug.
I know what happens when I get like this (loving things I cant have) it means that I am itching to completely overhaul a space.
Insert evil laugh. Watch out Court.
I agree. I live in St. Louis in a beautiful old (1904) brick home, but the downtown lofts are always appealing with their massive windows and exposed brick. Check out this one for fun. https://www.stlouismissourihomes.com/listing/15003232-1517-washington-ave-unit-8-st-louis-mo-63103/
Holy. Cow. That is SUCH a cool space!! The windows!!! Thanks for sharing Amy!

No wonder it’s cool, it’s by the City Museum! I wonder if my husband and kids would relocate….
Oh yes…I know this area quite well and I love it!
Lofts are fabulous, especially the ones in converted buildings, like an old shoe factory or something. You just can’t recreate that patina of age on wood beams and brick. Come to Chicago – we have lofts galore over here! 😉
You are so right! And I love Chicago!!
Come overhaul my space? I am quite entranced by the blue wood floors. That would hit the top of my to-do list if I weren’t always so concerned with resale value.
That is so hard I hear ya man, its like we are decorating for whomever might live in our house one day.
MANDI!!!!! Come on girl! How many times do we have to beg to see the tutorial for the dinning table light fixture in the Nugget??? You know, the one that hangs over the table, all geo-metric-cool-like? I have the materials ready to go and want to see how you did it!! *sniff sniif* I’m losing hope. PLEASE PLEASE show us your ways!! I’m on my knees with so many other of your readers!! 🙂
I feel the same way about lofts! So beautiful and glamorous, but it just totally wouldn’t function for me and my husband. We like to have alone time!
You have such a unique but totally signature style.
It’s like South-Western-Mid-Century-Industrial-Desert-Garden-Fairy.
I wish I could like this comment 97 times! Its the perfect description!!
I NEED that teal chair from the last photo. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for! Any idea where that image came from so I can start the hunt? 🙂
Hey Kate! Here is the image source! (didn’t realize that I forgot to add them!)

I love everything you do! And the loft apartment just got got me itching to redecorate but I have no idea where to start. Any tips?
Mandi…there isn’t one thing in that loft that isn’t way cool. I love every single inch each of it!
Come over haul my space..It’s never been hauled at all and I need some help with that!! Plus I live within driving distance….
This is my life. I am obsessed with loft living. Why can’t we have cathedral ceilings, exposed brick and industrial windows in the suburbs where the schools are good and the parking is abundant?!
