Isn't it welcoming?

Our New Front Door!

By Mandi 09/11/2017

After the last month of working around the plaster where the front door is, we finally took it down and dun dun dun dun dun duuuuuuuuun! We have a front door! Well, almost. We have a hole for a front door. But you guys know how excited I get about holes in the building so TA DA!

It took about 5.5 hours longer than we thought it would, but just like everything at the Merc, it might not be straight but that thing will last through the apocalypse.

Speaking of apocalypse, can you believe how much better the brick looks?

Its definitely not perfect, but man oh man doesn’t it look so much better?!

Court got the paint cleaned out of all of the lines, so now its my turn to step in and start repointing/regrouting it. I’m pretty sure once that is done its going to look as good as it ever has.

Big things are happening this week, can’t wait to tell you guys all about it!!

  6. My family was in St. George for a little get-away this past weekend and we drove by the now infamous Merc. Santa Clara has such a darling main street…and your work will just up it’s neat vibe. All the best to you as you continue this project.

  7. So, is there a current Santa Clara Merc. Co. ? Have you considered calling your business that? Loving this <3

  8. Hi Mandi, and hubby.
I’ve followed your blog the last 4 years, and absolutly love it! Like you, I do a lot of projects around the house, and like you, my dream is to build/renovate a house.
Now, i’m not quite there yet, and unfortunatly my hubby isn’t as handy as yours 😛
He’s got other qualities tho <3
Seing you guys do this has made me sure that this is something I GOT TO DO at some point of my life. And I'm projecting this fantasy in The Merc, loving every update.
