Modern and Cool Nativities To Match Your Modern and Cool House

By Mandi 12/04/2017

Let’s talk Nativities. When I was growing up my mom had 2, one that was paper and one that was tole painted. We loved playing with them, and as I’ve grown older I too want my house filled with them, but for years I’ve struggled to find ones that I love. Honestly this makes me sound so horrible, but I want them to match the style of my house…and not be a million dollars. Is that too much to ask? This year I was on the hunt for modern nativity sets and I thought just in case you were too that I’d share them with you!

Cast Iron Nativity from HOME DEPOT!?!??! Dang Home Depot, just when I didn’t think you could get any better you go and deliver like this.

My favorite one of the season was the one Stockhome created in collaboration with Amanda Jane Jones. It sold out almost instantly (I was SO SAD!!) but make sure you’re following them on IG so you don’t miss the chance to get a preorder for 2018 in!

Minimal Wood + Lucite Nativity by Trick. So fun if you LOVE color!!

Olivewood Children’s Nativity I love how simple and small this one is (the tallest piece is 3″)

Nativity Print by HaleyBDesigns

This last one is a little more unconventional and a little more fine art, but I absolutely LOVE Jenedy Paige’s painting called Little Lamb. Can’t you almost smell the new baby looking at it? She has 2 other paintings, one of Mary, and one of the shepherds and I was thinking how wonderful it would be to do a small gallery wall with all 3.

Do you have any favorite nativities? Leave them in the comments below, I’d love to check them out!!

  1. I’ve always loved Fontanini nativity sets. They aren’t minimalist, but they are beautiful, and they are plastic so kids can play with them. ☺️

  2. I’ve never met a nativity set I didn’t like ( after all it IS the reason for the season ?— oh wait there was one I didn’t like that I don’t put out. When my kids were little I used to say nothing is tacky at Christmas, but I’ve changed my mind on that). I have a contemporary home and I arrange all of my dozens of nativities from all over the world in what I think of as a kind of stylishly modern way. If we didn’t have so many I would just buy that gorgeous one from Home Depot and call it good. Thanks for loving nativities too and Merry Christmas to the Gublers.

  3. It’s not modern, but I do love my Willow Tree nativity set. I also have my mom’s beautiful olive wood nativity from Isreal.
