Hello hello! This post is not for everyone, if its not your cup of tea come back later today for a HUGE announcement!
As many of you know my cute husband is a recovering addict (you can read the story in its entirety here) sharing the hope that I feel for addicts is something that I LOVE doing. And writing has become so therapeutic for me. It was only a matter of time before I combined my 2 loves.
So a few months ago I decided to start a blog all about sharing hope for recovery. I asked one of the most wonderful people I know to co-write it with me and Voices With Hope was born.
It is a spiritually based blog written by 2 LDS girls who have dealt with addiction effecting their lives. Tara is one of the smartest, compassionate, and kind people that I have ever met. For those of you that are LDS you may remember a video shared in between conference sessions called Out In The Light about Pornography and Sex Addiction. Tara’s parents were the first couple in that video. They bravely shared their story and I admire them so much for it.
Voices With Hope is going to be somewhere that you can get both knowledge and inspiration. I hope that you will jump over and check it out (it doesn’t have all of the kinks worked out yet so be kind!)
Love Your Guts, Mandi
What a great idea. I’m so glad you have a forum for those who need the help and to know that there are others out there! I love YOUR guts. 😀
Good job. Proud that you did it!
Thanks for this. Just recently I have fond out an addiction in someone close to me. Maybe it will be a good avenue for hope in their situation. Also, imagine my surprise when I was watching TLC last night when I happened to spy your face.

Congratulations on the new blog! I’m sure it will be a light in the dark for many.
This is such a great idea… I’m not LDS, but I’ve dealt with drug & alcohol addiction and have spoken about it at church once before. It’s a scary thing to talk about, but worth it. Kudos to y’all for being so brave!
So proud of you!
Mandi, I think this new blog is inspired! Truly inspired.
Hey Mandi! I checked out the new blog after you tweeted about it yesterday (@lisabakerheaton, btw). Love it! This affects my life too. I’m glad so many more people are speaking out, removing shame and stigma, and focusing on hope and recovery.
On another note, I posted on my blog today about a house I looked at up here in Smithfield, UT, and I included at least one picture you HAVE to see…of something that was lurking in the basement of this house. Check it out if you can: Vintage 1970s Dream Home: I’ve Fallen in {Completely Irrational} Love
Mandi,
I truly can’t express in words how proud I am of you for your courage to share such a personal story and the strength and faith to presevere through it all. You are an inspiration to all and am so excited for you and your new blog!

Good for you Mandi! I have a few friends battling alcohol addiction right now and I know how important it is for them to have a support system. If you can provide that for people, then good for you! I wish you all the best in your new undertaking.
I think this is such an awesome idea…people in these situations need all the “voices of hope” they can get and the support too. I think it’s a great way for you and Cort and others to help people heal and find the strength to go through the hard times and end up on top.
I just found your blog and am sooooo excited!! Another person after my own heart! Can’t wait to get started with some of your ideas! And the give away with the heat gun in awesome!! I have a huge table that is a thrift find that I have been putting off refinishing that this would be perfect for!!
