Hey guys! I hope you have a fun weekend ahead of you!! Travelling for the last 10 days has totally thrown off my days, for some reason it feels like Thursday. I am hoping that actually having a weekend at home will straighten the ship.
|| ONE || I felt like you guys have “met” my assistant Jamie a lot (especially if you subscribe for the weekly newsletter!) She came to St. George about a month ago and of course she had to have a Maskcara makeover! We all know that Cara is massively talented, but HOLY CRAP she is a super model right?!!
|| TWO || I spent some time last week in Kohler, Wisconsin (it was so amazing and will get it’s own post) Touring the Kohler Design Center drummed up some really great inspiration. This white cross medicine cabinet was one of my favorite things in the entire space. After doing a little googling I found them (YAY!) and they are over $800 (wha?!) so the wheels are a turnin for a DIY.
|| THREE || Um, you haven’t seen a Sharpie wall until you’ve seen this one
.
|| FOUR || This rug from UO is the winner today. Floor, wall, table, pretty much amazing on anything.
|| FIVE || We are planning costumes for our family Halloween parade this year (we play music and dance behind the trailer while trick or treating. Last year we were Senior Steppers and had an entire routine, it was magical.) I am feeling VERY inspired by this.
#1. Jamie is just so beautiful with or without the makeover; I would sell body parts to have a Maskcara Makeover! Wish I lived closer.
#2. Super cool cabinet!
#3. A-flippin-maz-ing sharpie art… makes my arms sore just looking at her doing it though.
#4. Love the shape. Looks similar to the sharpie art shape. I’d be afraid hanging it would stretch it out of shape though. Any suggestions on how to hang it without having it sag?
#5. YES! YES! a million times YES! You guys have to do this just so we can see pictures and video of it!
and finally…
#6. When I grow up I want my creative brain to work just like yours! Although since I’m almost 1/2 a century old, that will never happen. So, I’ll just sit in front of my computer with my chin hanging down to the floor in awe & admiration of all your mind sees to create! Its like watching all the maybe’s in my brain come to life… Thanks for putting it out here for me to see!!
p.s. If you ever want to visit the Chicago area, I’d be happy to be your driver! You find the cool places to go and I’ll be your partner in crime. Right after you design & decorate my basement/family hangout/guestroom! 😉 I’m not the creepy stalker I sound like after rereading this though… Promise!
Love the Kohler Design Center. The first time my now-husband brought home to meet his parents, he also took me to tour Kohler. He’s a keeper.
I love the make-over in the first picture..but your assistant is naturally very pretty anyway!

OMG!!!! Before I say any thing I have to add to your long long LONG list of “YOUR SO FREAKIN AWESOME” comments!!!!!! You are amazing I mean seriously amazing!!!!! Not only at what you do, can do, come up with, the funny things you say (comment about the crystal skull planter in maci’s room “homegoods (strike 1) during Halloween (strike 2) on clearance (strike 3)” I laughed very hard by the way!!!) but also the way you are to people. I only know you from what I see on your blog every single day some times 5 times a day, I mean I have to check cuz I don’t want to miss some thing! Your always so nice to people on here. When I seen you in the “do it yourself” magazine for the first time ever I swear the gates of heaven opened up and glitter and sunshine and sparkles came down and as I was flipping through the pages of your amazing home it was like it was delivered to me on a fluffy cloud of marshmallows (pink ones as my daughter would say)! Then when I found out we have the same home town i was like “that’s it she is really from heaven!!!” Oh my goodness i totally sound like the crazy stalker! I promise like Beth M said I’m not a stalker I promise!!!!! I’m not yelling at you either with all my “!!!!!!” Marks I’m just super excited!!!!!!!!! The “tight pants” video is so awesome ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha “Don’t wake the snake”!!!!! Ok so now on a very very very serious note: I seen that you have done some “room overhauls”. Would you be interested in doing an Apartment overhaul? I know your super super busy and every thing. I just thought it would be some thing different then what you have done in your other overhauls cuz I don’t own this place so I can’t do those awesome shapie walls I’m so in love with that you do and things like that cuz it’s rented. I’m just so stuck in what do to with this place and it’s not me at all and I feel like it’s just a mess with all my different things and changing colors and oh it’s terrible. As you know here we don’t have the best places to get stuff like vintage wise but I did find a place I’m sure you know of that’s the best I could find any ways for our area it’s Urban Renewel so I do some things that are pretty cute that just need what I call the “MG” touch. Let me know if you would be interested in at least seeing it or some thing. Thank you!
I think we really need to replace “Sharpie Wall” with “Paint Pen Wall” since it is very misleading and you tell us every.single.time that it isn’t a Sharpie and that those will ruin the walls.
1. Jamie is a total hottie – in BOTH pictures, I might add!
2. Sharpie wall… *gasp* – that is insane in the membrane.
3. “I got my tight pants on!” YES!
