Crowdsourced Inspiration To Claw your Way Out of a Creative Slump

By Mandi 02/13/2018

Hey guys!!

If you follow my stories on Instagram  you know yesterday I asked where everyone finds inspiration to ignite a fire in their heart. If you don’t follow my stories, I hate to be the one to deliver this bad news, but you’re totally missing out, its where all the good stuff is happening. This reno is kicking my bum a little and Instastories is where all the real time updates are happening, so check it out!

Back to the topic t hand. I’m in this weird sort of place. A reno like the Merc has been my ultimate dream goal for years and now that we’re rounding out Phase 1 and getting ready to move in, I’m feeling sort of like I need a new HUGE dream and some inspiring words to get the big goals flowing.

SOOOOO, I asked where everyone finds their kick-you-in-the-pants-YOU-GOT-THIS-GIRL-take-on-the-world-cause-you-can-change-it inspiration and I got SO MANY great responses,, and I know I’m not the only one that needs it, so all of the sources are below!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing! I’ve made the commitment to read more this year and this is exactly what I’m after!

  2. I’m the one who sent the quote a couple of weeks ago about God leaving the world unfinished so that we could experience the joys of creation. He is also the one who rested after his great creative production of this beautiful world. There is something to be said for just enjoying your home for awhile. Watch movies in your theater room (if Court will let you in ?— make cookies in your gorgeous kitchen—just sit and snuggle with the kiddos and watch the sunsets—have parties with your girls’ friends and fill that home with fun and laughter. Your great talents are not going away. Your next passionate adventure will turn up just as the Merc found its way into your lives. In the meantime maybe it’s ok to slow down and bask in the splendor of what you’ve done.

  3. Please don’t neglect your blog. Not everybody likes instagram – I love reading blogs and think it is sad that you didn’t post here what is going on in the merc lately.

    1. Neglect?! I’m sure Mandi is busy as heck and posts on here whenever she can! Instagram stories are quick, easy, up-to-date, and don’t require typing. I don’t blame her. Instagram stories are where it’s at for behind-the-scenes stuff!

  4. I tend to agree with Melanie….I am NOT an instagram or facebook lover, but have been following your blog since it’s beginnings with the yellow nightstand. Please try and keep us non-techs in the group. (and yes I am in my 30s not 60s :))

  5. I don’t do Instagram….so I, too, as the above ladies mentioned….LOVE to get the blog in an email form! Love what you do! I get my inspiration from email blogs, magazines, books, friends….when an awesome idea pops up I either use it then, or store away that idea to use in the future!

  6. What a great resource of inspiration! Thanks for compiling it all for us.
