Oh man have I been waiting to share this video with you guys!! Are you ready to dive into the kitchen at the Merc?! WAHOOOO! There is just so much goodness to share! We’re kicking off this part of the Merc reno with a fun video. Check it out below and then make sure you come back for all the details over the next little while!!
We cook a TON and don’t have a hood. Other homes we’ve had them and they seem a tad obnoxious to use. From this point forward I’d opt to not have one.
Can you show us how you mount shelves on tile wall? It seems so scary.
I, too, cook a lot and don’t have a range hood. They just don’t look good and I don’t think they are that functional. So good choice opting out on the range hood. I’m curious about the open shelving. I like the look but isn’t it difficult to reach items? And, I don’t know about you but if it’s not totally arranged it starts to look messy and everyone can see it. Seems like a lot of work.
I cook a lot and don’t have a range hood, but really need one. We are constantly setting off our fire alarms and the fan would eliminate odors. I would be concerned with dirt, grease and dust on open shelves, especially without a hood!
So much goodness in this space! Those open shelves—LOVE!! The island—LOVE!! Those floors—AMAZING!!
May this video go down in history as the day Court began loving Merc Perks. 🙂
Wow, wow, this is looking so amazing! I love the exposed wall, it is so nice to keep the old shining through and it looks so perfect. The handles are all gorgeous to do, such a nice touch to have them made specially and they look so Merc! I’m totally with you on having a separate kitchen & living area, nobody want to look at the dishes!

The cabinet handles are my favorite detail! They’re a nice change from brass, and they really make the cabinets look special. I love the other steel/industrial details throughout the kitchen, too, like the shelf brackets. Very cool!
