Last December I got to tour the 2017 HGTV Dream Home. Its moments like this where it all comes full circle and I just can’t believe that this is what I get to do for my job. I mean, I guess if you’re going to twist my arm….
Where is the HGTV Dream Home?
This year the HGTV Dream Home was on Saint Simons Island. It was beautiful!! Apparently its sort of a problem, but do you lucky southern folk know how beautiful Spanish Moss is? This desert dweller is jealous. And the beach, don’t even get me started on the beach.
HGTV Dream Home Tour
I love the almost all white exterior, its a little blown out in the pictures but the white metal roof is perfection.
Brian Patrick Flynn, the designer for Dream Home is hilarious and creative and brilliant. He always finds a way to bring some heavy personality into the space and throw things off a little (in the right way.) This painting was in the entryway and set the best tone. Pssst! The plants in the bowl are Stag Horn Ferns, one of the only plants that you can mount and hang on the wall! Tutorial here!)
HGTV Dream Home Living Room
The living room is right off the entryway and has these KILLER Pecky Cypress wood planked ceilings. Pecky Cypress is native to the area and has some really heavy texture and color variation. Its so good.
HGTV Dream Home Kitchen
If you’ve been wondering if the flood of saturated greens in home decor is here to stay, let me introduce you to the kitchen and shout a resounding YES!
Everything from the backsplash, to the countertops, to the cabinet hardware is rocking’ this moody tone and I freaking love it!
While we’re in the kitchen, lets just chat about the Delta Trinsic Pro Touch 2.0 faucet. Is it not absolutely dream home worthy?
HGTV Dream Home Master Bedroom
The master bedroom was dark and moody, but had a wall of beautiful windows to balance it out.
Have you entered to win the house yet?!
OMG what an amazing trip! I love the art and the green tile backsplash in the kitchen. And the wood accents everywhere are so warm and beautiful:) So excited you girls got to see it in person. And I cannot wait to see your MIL’s kitchen!!
Wow! I like all of the HGTV homes, but this is one I could move into & not change a thing!
