AHHHHH! Save My Crap!

By Mandi 08/25/2011

You guys. Today is Court’s day off of work (yay!) but he is cleaning out the garage (OH CRAP!)

He says he is throwing EVERYTHING away! So now I have to help him clean it to save ”The Hoard” as he so lovingly calls it.

Join us on our adventure over on the Vintage Revivals Facebook Fan Page. You can help me convince him to keep junk I love, see whats going on Craigslist and feel better about the state of your garage!!

We’ve already had this convo this morning…

Court: I am throwing away those bags of clothes.

Me: No you cant! They are too small for Ivie but too big for Dylan. We have to save them.

Court: Nope they are going

Me: There is no where else to put them

Court: How about in the top of the closets?

Me: They need to be in storage bins

Court: Then do it!

Me: I don’t have any money.

Court: Cause you keep feeding the Hoard.

I just walked away laughing cause it is SOOO true!

LOL he just walked by and said “Must conquer the Hoard.”

Love Your Guts

  1. You’re making me feel better about my hoard in the basement. 🙂 I know one of these days my hubby is going to get all gung-ho on me to get rid of most of it. Nooooooo!

  2. My husband is the same. He hates that I save things for later. There is a new rule that anything project piece I buy has to be completed and have a legit place in our house in under 6 months. I was keeping old jeans to make a jean picnic blanket; he convinced me it isn’t worth the time or the space keeping them.

  3. We’re the same way! My clean freak husband would throw away everything if he could. I want to keep just about everything.

  4. Hahaha…that is just like me! At least you have a garage to store your “hoard”. Mine is alllll over the house. Every room has something. If I were wise with my money, I would’nt have this problem. Good luck with saving your awesome stuff!

  5. Your husband sounds JUST like mine! I love refinishing furniture and we just moved into a small house so all our current things don’t fit and he wants me to downsize! I don’t want to part with my treasures (Even if they are old vintage couches that are falling apart)!

  6. This was hilarious to look at and read through everything! I had a question for you Mandi…Obviously you post a lot of pictures…How do you get Blogger to work with you and keep all the pictures good, with your text in the right spots? Is there a special trick or do you just keep editing the post after seeing how it looks? My personal blog frustrates me so bad to post pictures! Love yours, check it daily!

  7. I feel your pain. My husband keeps threatening to do the same to me so I promised I wouldn’t buy any new “projects” until a bunch of my current ones are done! Very tough.

  8. haha, too funny! My husband totally groans and gets all grumpy when I bring new crap home. He always asks: “Why do you need ANOTHER dresser?”

p.s.I am flying into your area tonight and will be there for TWO weeks if you were needing to have another girls night *hint hint* 😉

    Love you!

  9. I store kids clothes on the top shelf in their closets in diaper boxes. not the prettiest but they are a really good size for kids clothes and long enough that they can fit alot but won’t fall off the shelf. You could paint them or something if you wanted them prettier.

  10. Noooo! I hope you were able to at least keep some of your favorites.

BTW, I put some new pics up on my blog of the new house you should check out, even though I’m no where near being done.

  11. Men. They just don’t get it. At least not when they threaten to clear out the vintage stuff. Lovin’ your blog (am checking out the Top 10 Blogging No NOs and wondering how many I am currently blindly committing!)

  12. hahahah I’m totally laughing out loud right now Mandy. I can just see you two. By the way this is Nikki {stout} Key! You’re pretty much amazing at decorating. When we get to move back home I’m gona make you help decorate my house hahah.

  13. popped over here from Crafting With the Stars….and got a kick out of your husband calling your ‘stuff’ the hoard. My hubby keeps saying we have to throw stuff away but he isn’t talking about his giant bin of electronics and cables (that I collected up from around the house and consolidated)….etc. Nope he wants to get rid of chairs and couches that need reupholstering! Can you believe that?. geesh some guys.

Think I’ll have to ‘follow’ you now….
