I am soooo excited to share something that is truly important with you guys today! I mean painting and crap is semi important but this is life changing important.

Meet my girl Lindsay.

Gah! Isn’t she just the cutest? Lindsay is one of my sister Amy’s really great friends.

I have had the chance to meet Miss Lindsay and she is the sweetest thing in the entire world. Lindsay is extra special too. She has a syndrome called Prader-Willies.

It is actually really interesting, its a lifelong condition complicated by developmental delays, low muscle tone, mental retardation, and behavioral issues.

PWS is a 2 phase genetic disorder that a huge (like 70%) of the people that it effects aren’t aware of. Phase one is called “Failure to thrive” When a PWS child is born they have an extremely hard time gaining weight. They have little to no appetite and usually when a PWS infant dies it is because of starvation.

Then phase 2 hits around ages 2-4. It is titled “Thriving too well” Basically the feeling of being hungry never goes away. Prader-Willie children have an abnormal interest in food and also an extremely low metabolism which results in obesity and all of the complications that come from that.

So why am I telling you all of this? Because we have a chance to help! They are part of the Vivint Gives Back Project and with everyone’s vote can win $250,000 for the Prader-Willies Syndrome Association! That is AMAZING!

So please take 30 seconds out of your life to click over and vote for the UPWSA. (You will need a facebook account to vote.) If you are logged in to Facebook just scroll down to the orange button and click vote. That’s it.

Vivint is giving away $1.25 Million to charities. Help us win!

You can vote once a day from now until August. They have set a goal to have 5,000 votes the first week of the contest so share share share!!
