Lots of things swirling around in this head of mine. So here you go!
If you follow me on Twitter 1. you are AWESOME. and 2. you may have noticed I was MIA this weekend. I decided to take a mini vaycay from Blogland to work on some sweet projects that you guys are going to DIE over and to spend some time with my sweet girls.
I have been thinking so much lately about how wonderful my mom was and how I always seem to be too busy to play Barbies or run around with my girls the way that I want to. So that’s what I did this weekend. We had races running up and then rolling down the giant hills at the school. We played bubbles and chalk and flew kites and ate cupcakes. We dyed easter eggs and rollerbladed. And you know what? I don’t have any mom guilt today.
I always remember being a happy kid. But I remember few times that my mom laughed really hard. That was such a treat. Ivie my oldest said to me the other day “Mom you never laugh!” See, I laugh all the time just not when she is around. I want my girls to remember me as being a happy mom. So we did stuff that made us laugh and guess what a little laughter does to a stressed out family? Makes everyone feel better.
So why are we stressed? One of the main reasons is my poor hubs has been working non stop because a new restaurant just opened in Vegas and we are all more cranky because we MISS HIM! (If you are down there go eat at Durango’s Mexican Grill on Durango and Desert Inn and tell my father in law hi! You will LOVE it! ps. He’s the skinny one with glasses)
Sorry this is sort of a wandering post….
So.

Thanks for reminding us what is REALLY important in life…I get so carried away in BlogLand too!
enjoyed the post.
Haha! I just love that you titled this post “Mind Vomit”…it def made me click to see that it was all about! “Mom Guilt” sucks..totally know what you mean so I am glad you got to relax and enjoying playing with your kiddos! Best thing ever.
Delighted Momma
I think being a mommy is on a lot of people’s minds lately, (including MINE) don’t you?
Thanks for the reminder. I just made a promise that I won’t work on projects unless the baby girl is asleep (and only for a little while) or when the all the kids are in bed. Sucks, but I have to do it. WAAY to many ideas swirling around in this noggin.
The girls look adorable.
WHAT A FUN TIME! I have been OFF for MANY days. I have one baby left at home…I need to enjoy her as much as I can. I hear ya loud and clear. Have a happy day!

That wall is amazing. Also, I loved seeing your kids! They are darling! I’m so glad you spent lots of time with them. You were missed, but that time is so valuable! Thanks for being a huge inspiration! I can’t wait to get out of my 300 sq. foot apartment(it’s a cave) and attempt to make a house cute through DI and Savers! 🙂
xoxo,
Mandy
So glad you got to spend time with your daughters and really relax. I know what you mean about laughing away from the kids. I was that way with my son until I made the effort to show him my lighter side.
Hope you have many more days like that with your sweet ones.
Cheers,
Tracy All Thumbs Crafts
Your girls are so adorable. You really did the right thing by spending the time with them. Suck up all that baby sweetness you can.
I cant wait til you reveal this room! I LOVE your creativity and how your rooms come together!! Your girls are adorable, simply sweet. You are one blessed lady! Have a supa fantastico day!
Becky
your daughters are even more adorable then the crafts you make! i totally understand taking time away- i do that as well because you can miss SO much if you are always behind the computer screen. love your blog. xox
Clair is your father in law? My brother in law worked in management with him at Shoney’s for decades. We know him really well and always go to Durango’s here in St. Geezy and say hello (He’s nice and gives us free drinks!)
One more reason to pick me for the makeover :)It’s all I stinkin think about!
Oh your girls are adorable!! I can’t wait to see your room! Those silver pillows in the picture are so pretty. I just made a silver pillow using cleaning towels. Makes me want to run out and grab a couple more so I can make a partner for mine!
Mind vomit. Yup – that is my problem – thanks for giving me the definition. 😉
I also set aside the projects AND my computer to spend with my three kiddos. Working full-time and then coming home to get my crafts and work-outs in definitely gives me mom-guilt. I try to stay balanced – weekends are for my kids, and I try to create a space of time each night dedicated to spending with each child. Thanks for the inspiration!
Is this the same Durangos that is by the outlets in St. George???
Loved your blog… and the mom breaks… SUCH a must! My daughter and baby will be graduating next month. The time flies. SO, whilst I am busy working, creating and caring for the necessities in my life, I always remember to CREATE that special time for my gal. Thanks for such a great blog and am LOVING following you on twitter~
Hey Mandi I’m in love with the pinkish/peachish color that you painted the frame of that mirror with. I know it is a couple posts back but I wanted to make sure you saw my comment so I posted it here. What is that color called? Was it a spray or regular paint. By the way I love your blog and I’m going to start following it today. You have such a cute personality. It makes me want to be a more positive person too. Thank you Mandi!
Your girls are GORGEOUS! Just like their mommy. 😉 I can hardly believe we live in the same state! What a difference a 5 hour drive South can make. We were all bundled up and FREEZING on Easter! Heck, we’re STILL bundled up and FREEZING!!! My hubby keeps saying he’s packing up and moving to St. George. Too bad his job is in SLC.
oh geez, dying over that stencil. and counting the days until you transform my RED room. :o) seriously, good for you for being a fun mom for a weekend. i seriously need one of those!
You have the most junkalcious titles to your blogs!!lol I just lurve them..Seriously even though I think you are a fab decorator and I enjoy reading all of your posts this by far has to be one of my favorites… You can decorator til death do you part, but your children will only be little once. (Thank goodness blogging wasn’t around when my son was little. He might not have known what I looked like!lol)
Do you guys own the Durango’s in St. George too??? I could seriously eat there EVERY SINGLE DAY if I could:) YUMM-O!
I am so excited to find out more about your bedroom design. All these hints are are great!
