Planter Week continues!

If you have a pulse, you are probably obsessed with the gorgeous glass terrariums that have been all over the interwebs. You know the kind that look like blown glass bubbles? Oh yes. Those lovely baubles.

One of the most frustrating things about being an impulsive DIYer? Ordering things online. It is like putting the never ending loading circle on a project. just cant handle it.

So I have found a few sources for these drool worthy planters that have them in stock locally!

The best place that I have found HANDS DOWN is HomeGoods. I mean, of course it is. They have so many fun shapes and sizes, and at the St. George store they have a lot in stock,  I think I buy one or two every time I stop by. All of the planters pictured above are from HomeGoods. They range in price from $6.99 for the extra long tear drop, to $3.99 for the small round one.

The next store on our list is Joann’s. They have globe planters that are about the size of a cantaloupe. They are a little bit more expensive at $14.99 each, but if you use a coupon you can slash that by 40%.

Last but not least is Target. They are located in the garden isle (where they have the fake flowers and outdoor birdhouses.)  They seem to have them in spurts and they sell out really quickly.

The plus side is that they come pre-planted with pretty realistic looking succulents. Bonus for those that have a black thumb. The dark dirt is not the greatest, but I have a really simple fix for that happening on the blog tomorrow.

Do you have any other favorite haunts? Or do you have the patience of Job and can wait 4 days for an online order?

  1. OOHHH… I’m looking forward to your post tomorrow.. I have the ones from Target and I’m not wild about the black ‘dirt’, so I’d love to see what you recommend!

  2. Very cute! You should get Jamie busy on a mobile version of your site. It drives me up the wall to look at it on my phone when I’m not at my desk and supposed to be busy at work 😉

  3. Thanks for the sources! I LOVE hanging planters…they just seem so magical. 🙂 But finding one that doesn’t cost $50 is very difficult. Oh! Side note, I voted Monday for CWTS and voted for the macrame chair. Once I found out that it was yours and Classy Clutters work, I wasn’t shocked. 🙂 Well done! I can’t wait for the tutorial on this!

  4. Sometimes West Elm has them. I was wondering if you could give ideas where to hang them. I only picked up one when I was visiting the States, maybe I should have gotten three. My one kind of disappears in front of my windows and in front of my white walls. I need help in styling my glass terrarium please!!! It is just sitting on the shelf:( Maybe I need to find a more interesting string.

  5. This just reminded me that I have hanging glass votives we used for our wedding that are just sitting in a box in the spare bedroom. Time for a project!

  6. WHERE CAN I FIND DIRECTIONS ON THE WALL HANGING WITH STRAWS FROM THE SHOW SEGMENT ON KSL?

  7. I love the glass terrariums – they are so pretty!

Really quick grammar note: when you’re talking about a walkway in a store, a wedding, or an airplane, it’s spelled aisle. An “isle” is an island.

  8. CB2 (Crate and Barrel 2) has some really great hanging ones and some that actually have a hole so you can screw them directly to the wall. Best part? They’re as cheap as Target!! Worst part? They have tons of other stuff that may also make it into your cart.

  9. i have a growing collection of these (yet to be planted and hung) all from tjmaxx/marshalls or homegoods. i too buy one every time i go in there. at my stores (in atlanta) they only seem to have one or two at a time, which means i have to buy them. ha.
love your ideas for hanging. i cant wait to finally hang them all in a group. it will look so cool!
