Annual Family Christmas Picture 2018: Rock You Like A Snowglobe

By Mandi 12/26/2018

Merry Christmas you guys!! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday with the people you love the  most!

Every Christmas Court’s siblings get together for our annual family photo. This is our 8th year and believe me when I say, this is our favorite part of Christmas. It started off as a funny gift for Court’s parents and has become the highlight of our entire year. I’ll link all of the past years photos below!

The year we channeled our inner hairband and went full on 80’s glam rock.

Please note Brem doing “spidey hands”

Love you all!

  1. I don’t get it. For a Christmas picture I think something a little less disgusting would be better. Why are we perpetuating/glorifying offensive groups like this one. Your money would have been better spent this CHRISTMAS on something a little more in the spirit of what Christmas is really about. I’m a little disappointed.

    1. Shut up Linda, such a buzz kill. These pictures are amazing Mandi, I look forward to seeing what you and your family come up with every year!

    2. Someone always has to be offended about everything these days. Itโ€™s a joke. Get a sense of humor Linda and keep your miserable personality to yourself. I think it is great. So creative!!!

    3. We actually discussed doing the nativity, but thought that Court dressing up like baby Jesus would’ve been way more offensive. ??โ€โ™€๏ธ
      Merry Christmas Linda!

      1. Hahahahaha!!!! You are my absolute favorite!!!

You guys seriously rock… <โ€” see what I did there? I hope you found that punny! ??

Happy holidays! You are seriously so amazing! โค๏ธ

      2. ROFLOL!!! Mandi that is too funny!! I love your pictures and look forward to them every year. Since my dad passed away, we don’t really do Christmas anymore which is sad because it used to be my favorite time of the year. Thankfully, I still have the true reason of Christmas and my faith and that helps me to push through, but I always say laughter is the best medicine and I always get a good giggle with your annual photos. Keep up the great work. I don’t know if I could have kept a straight face, I would have been laughing so hard if it were me!!!! Happy Holidays! Kim in Texas

    4. People like this are EXHAUSTING! ???? clearly never had the PLEASURE of the 80s. Epic time in history

    5. WOW, Linda. Christmas means something different to everyone. A large part of what is important about Christmas is family and if this family likes to spend their family time dressing in theme and taking fun, creative photos, good for them. Shame on you for making it all about what you believe a holiday should be. Mandi- you and Court rocked it like a hurricane! Everyone looks AWESOME!

    6. How dare they enjoy doing something silly as a family! Jesus would definitely not want that! Family time should be formal and boring.

    7. Linda…Linda…. Linda…. what is disgusting about this? And WTH does “offensive groups like this one” mean?

    8. Hi, Linda O. I’m not sure if your comment was sarcastic — in which case, well played! — but if not, I’m curious if the picture itself bothers you, or if it’s the combination with Christmas? Like, would it be as offensive to you if she posted it at New Year’s or Halloween?

I like this family’s sense of fun. As someone who can barely wrangle her own kids for a picture, I applaud the collaboration and cooperation this must take. That’s a loving family!

This year has a different photographic quality than their others — less great-lighting polish and more garage-band shadowy vibes. Which is probably the point.

  2. This is just too perfect and seems like a great way to get the family together for some good, clean FUN! Life doesn’t have to be so serious all the time. ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. UHMAZING.

You have the awesomest family – and I love how into it everyone gets. Merry Christmas!!!

  4. Oh my gosh! So funny!! I flipped through all the other years and canโ€™t pick a favorite! So good!

  5. LOVE IT!!! People need to chill itโ€™s up to you do what you would like for YOUR Christmas card.

  6. I love it. I look forward every year for this family Christmas photo. So much fun. Sorry Linda that this upsets you but Jesus loves the people who were in 80s rock bands as much as he loves you.
    Rock on!

  7. I too am OFFENDED! I cannot believe that people who have FREE WILL actually CHOOSE to do what they want! Also, I can practically see Court’s NIPPLES. COURT’S HAIRY NIPPLES ARE PRACTICALLY POPPING OUT OF HIS LEATHER VEST. And a man in HIGH HEELS? WHAT’S NEXT? WOMEN WEARING PANTS TO CHURCH???

This is outrageous. Next time take please send out a reader survey with a minimum of 5 choices for your Christmas picture and let us vote like the proud Americans we are. We vote for things in this country. We’re not communists. Are you a communist too? Wouldn’t be surprised….

  8. I think it shows fun and ingenuity!! If someone doesn’t like it no one is forcing to look. Find something else to read or watch. Mandi has a fantastic site with a weather of information look at those ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Listen,Linda…Linda.Linda. Listen Linda. Zero percent of your opinion was requested. Amazing pic! Living your best life- I love it!! Keep those pics coming! ??

  10. Reverence and respect for the Lord is always right but often lacking in the world today. Also, kindness in our responses to others, even when we disagree, is always right. Xoxo

    1. Perhaps the same goes for Linda, and her not calling their tradition “disgusting”. Anyone looking at this should see people who enjoy getting together and doing something fun together as a family.

I have no doubt in my mind that Mandi & her family make time for the Lord at Christmas (& otherwise), but I think there is also time for getting together and taking silly photos with their family too….the two things can coexist.

  11. I love it that you get to do what you want here in America. I am sure your family had a great time doing this. Good for you. We should all just give people space to celebrate this time of year the way that they want to. Yes, Christmas is about Jesus. And I really don’t think Jesus would have a problem with these pictures. It’s what’s in your hearts that counts.

  12. Everyone has a Christmas tradition. This is yours. Your family celebrates in a unique way that takes a lot of thought.
    You should be you.
    Merry Christmas

  13. I look forward to your family Christmas photos every year. They are so creative. Keep it going. I wish my family was more free spirited and fun!

  14. Bless you all, Mandi. You certainly outdid yourselves this year and it looks like you all had a total blast! I stress out over preparing Christmas lunch every other year for extended family. I canโ€™t imagine how you also find time to organise such a large number of coordinated costumes. What a fun and impressive record you now have. This is my second year of viewing the pictures and Iโ€™m looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

  15. I missed this yesterday but have to say I hope you all had as many laughs doing this shoot as I did while looking through the photos. Thanks for sharing!

  16. What a great photo!! You guys are so fun!! Merry Christmas and thank you for being YOU!!

  17. OMG… this is awesome. Ha!! LOVE it. I’ve been wondering when you would post it. How can Brem be that old? And your girls? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  18. Awesome photos! Linda needs to relax and worry about her own holidays and let others create their own kind of family fun. Nice job. What a fun family tradition to do this every year! Mandi, you go girl!

  19. ROCK ON, MANDI & family! Absolutely LOVE THIS year’s family photo and look forward to these every year! ROCK. ON. (no matter what anyone says)

  20. I LOVE your Christmas photos and wish my family would do the same. What awesome memories you all have for every year.

  21. You guys crack me up! I’ve been wondering when you’d post these! Too funny! Love everything on your blog! โค๏ธ Merry Christmas! ?

  22. OMG, so funny! Y’all are basically unrecognizable and I love it. I think this might be my favorite holiday pic so far. And I’m totally jealous of how comfortable Court looks in heels that tall.

  23. Oh. My. Word. I love the idea of this–all the kids getting together to come up with some crazy theme gift for the parents. The Flashback to 1976 is my favorite one–the sweaters! The huge glasses! The oh-so-earnest poses! The glass of wine and a Boston Terrier! So much fun.

No matter what taste level any of these are, there is so much planning and prep that goes into these, it’s easy to see how much all of you love doing this for the parents, and how much you love those parents. As long as THEY get a kick out of it, that’s what counts. Thanks for sharing all of them.
