If you follow me on twitter then you are fully aware of the resentment that I had this weekend to the PTA carnival at our school. It sort of stole my Creative Estates plans, chewed them up and spit them on my shirt.
I am a HUGE advocate of helping at your kiddo’s school. Not only does it help out the school but I think that it is important that your kids see you at school during the day sometimes. It helps them see that even when they are at school they are a priority in your life (of course we all know they are but its good for them to SEE it.)
This year we decided to go old school on the carnival. And it would have been perfect if it hadn’t rained. But we moved everything inside and made the most of it.
Do you remember this awesomeness that I blogged about here?
So entirely gag worthy there aren’t even words.
This is what it looked like when I got done with it.
Obviously it got a new paint job using white and red spray paint and Scotch Blue tape to stripe it. Who ever did the first (of the 15 layers of paint that was on it) used something really crappy and all the other layers peeled off really easily. So I decided to just go with it and make it look oldish.
The roof was recovered in my new obsession. Corrugated tin. Keep an eye out for it in some up coming projects. The banner was made of course, using the love of my life (besides my husband) Madonna my Silhouette. If you don’t own one you have my sincere pity.
The inside is the best part. See this pic?
Its of our school’s principal. I adore her and everything that she does for our kids, so I had to pay homage to her awesomeness.
And as cool as the ticket booth was the real star of the show was the photo booth.
That’s right folks I said photo booth. As in for 2 punches you can get awesome pics like these:
Now I know that you are raging jealous and want your kids to go to our school just so that you can get awesome photo booth photos at the carnival but guess what.
My friend Deb who owns said photo booth totally rents it out. How fun for weddings or prom or the company Christmas party. Right?
Click here to go to funnyfacephotobooth.com for more info and p.s. they pretty much travel around the western US.
p.p.s. I am sharing this with you cause I think that it is legitimately the coolest thing ever. Not cause I am getting paid or anything.
AMAZING! I really have no other words. Just AMAZING!!!
You are amazing! 🙂 Just thought you’d like to know.

At least you were doing something fun and creating a cute booth! I love corrugated tin too. Ever since I saw it on Anna White’s wall in her office.
Wowza. That’s some transformation! I’m sure your kids and the whole school appreciated your major Creative Estates sacrifice and what great memories you’ve given them.
That just awesome. Both your creation and the photo booth. =)
those booths are popping up everywhere…I love them! I got to get in one at a wedding and the pics were fun.
This is spectacular! I bet the kids love it too! Frankly the “before” looked too terrible for words. You’ve done an awesome job 🙂
the booth looks amazing! fantastic job!!
love it..the school is lucky to have you! can’t wait to see what you do with corrugated tin…
I am in love with the ticketbooth! Swoon!
I love the fact that your Ticket booth turned out looking worn. It has so much character and pizazz. I adore photo booths. I am thinking of making my own little one for our sons first birthday in July.
Thanks for the link Mandi!! Your the best, and the ticket booth is AMAZING!!! I didn’t get a good look at it the other night, it’s great!!
That is GREATNESS!! Carnies make me laugh 🙂
That is the coolest ticket booth EVER. I can see if being well used in the summer as well for a lemonaid stand. Amazing!
umm LOVE this!! This is so fun!! I love the red and white stripes so much!
I am currently trying to decide how I can have an event that would require tickets. So far, it’s a kissing booth…where I invite all the movie stars on my top 5 list. That would be fun….yes?
So CUTE! I love how the paint looks all old timey and everything. You have a true talent!
