This freaking awesome $14.00 cupboard is getting some major plastic surgery next week with a new product from Krylon that I am itching to get my hands on.

How about this pair of end tables for $10.00? I left the outside on when we made our trip to SLC and it rained and bubbled the top (I suck at life) so I am going to try and sand it smooth…maybe.

I also found these ornate frames o love on KSL 2 months ago and finally picked them up while I was visiting. I had 2 of the large ones ($20.00) and 3 small ($8.00) but gave my sis a big one and you can see what I did with the small one here.

Look at this awesome coat of arms-ish ginorm wall piece. I think that the lion may be anorexic but it was love at first sight.

Look What I Found Friday

Crap, you guys. Here is my word of advice.

When you are doing a project, don’t just finish it 90%. Cause someday The Nate Berkus Show will call you and then you have to use a video camera to take pictures of your house (which means it cant be photoshopped…)  and THEN you will have to finish all 10% of those projects at a feverishly fast pace.

I should have renamed the title of this “Look What I Lost Friday” and show you a picture of my brain.

Also, if you truly love my blog you will notice that I use a lot of the same accessories when I stage my pictures. Like this little owl:

I cant do that for this, so I am digging through my stash and pulling out some awesome junk that I forgot about to fill a the rooms. Oh and here is the best part. Cute Mr. Owls not in any of those spots now. Either is that table and all the crap on it. Or the chair. Or the antlers. Or the typeography picture. Basically the only thing that is still on the wall are the tiles.

Maybe I should have just said that it would have been a lot less typing.

So I don’t have a new awesome find, but here is a picture of a freaking awesome chair that I scored for $15.00 at the DI (Utah’s version of Goodwill) that has had a makeover…..

Sucktastic Award and Look What I Found Friday

Well since Friday is 3/4 of the way over, I think that I totally deserve this award today.
Lol. I just made that, no one really “awarded” it to me. Oh gosh I hope that it doesnt start going around blogland. Anyways as many of you know I have been SO busy with my {Crafting With The Stars} project. Poor Becca,  she is so nice and I am so insane. Have all of you been over to see her blog {Blue Cricket Design}  She is so AMAZIN’ you guys dont even know. The CWTS projects will be up on Saturday at midnight (well technically Sunday at 12:01) for voting. It will go until monday at 10 pm MST.
On to Look What I Found Friday,

Honestly they have these type of lights at the DI EVERYTIME I go there. I bought 2 for $5.00 each.
I have one installed and I am DYING to post about it but I need to wait until after Tues. (Its not directly involved with {THE PROJECT OF THE YEAR} but well, I cant show you.)

Look What I Found Friday

Hello all! I am so excited today for a few reasons…

1. I have 235 followers right this second! Hooray!!

2. I made it a whole 6 days without going thrifting. This is HUGE for me (as many of you know)  But I did cave and go today so that I would have something to post about and guess what?!?!? I found a few great things! Not just knick knacky things that I dont really need,  cool furniture things that I probably don’t need but will find a place for. Ha Ha Ha!

3. IT IS FALL! This has been the theme of everyones blogs for weeks but I live in Southern Utah where up unitl a few days ago it was 105. I love it when the weather changes down here!

4. I just found out that Yo Gabba Gabba Live is coming to Salt Lake in Nov. our family DIES over Gabba.

Ok so without further adieu here’s what I rounded up today…

Great woven cane chair $10.00 (I cant wait to get to work on this!!)
 Yes, another chandy. Major plans in the works here people. Major. $8.00
Old wooden filing cabinet. I LOVE this but I dont know where to put it, and I think I just wnat to leave it wood. How do you restain it without making it look new? Any suggestions would be awesome!! $8.00
Just one more really random question. Do you put the description of the pic before it or after and why?
I cant decide how to do it, and its making me so frustrated!

Look What I Found Friday

Welcome to the first ever “Look What I Found Friday”! I am excited that you are here! Some of you know me but most of you do not,  let me introduce myself. My name is Mandi and I am an addict. I am addict to anything free, cheap, funky, and old. but it must be at least a combo of 2 of these things. I go thrifting almost everyday. I live right down the street from the DI (for those that dont know what that is, its like Goodwill)  There are some days that I go twice. I just cant help myself,  I get such a rush. Usually I leave with 1 or 2 things sometimes more. I would say on average I spend $4.00 a day. Some people drink Diet Coke, some people smoke, some people eat out, I buy junk. Dont judge! I thought that doing a “look what I found friday” would be really fun because  1. It would help me remember everything that I got. 2. It will hopefully help some people see how much potential there is in junk. 3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE did I mention that I LOVE seeing what everyone else does with their junk. And the most important thing for a home dec blog weekly entry….. Its got a catchy name! So this is what I have rounded up this week.

From The Hope Chest:
This Beautiful white chippy wicker chair for $10.00

Becuase my bloggy is so new I’m not used to taking pictures. This mirror used to be gold. Everyone can picture what it looked like, honestly just close your eyes and Bam there it is right? They wanted $50.00 which is RE-diculous. Its super old and the reflective coating on it is getting foggy so its never going to look clean. I bargined them down to $25.00. Now NORMALLY I wouldnt pay $25.00 but I am doing something super exciting with them and this one was the Perfect size and shape so I gave in and bought it.

The rest of the stuff that I got is a mixture of randomness that I got mostly at the DI but I ended up at an antique store this week because I REALLY wanted a green glass mason jar with an old lid to make a soap dispenser {like this one}. I wasn’t blessed with the gift of patience so I went to Sandy’s Antiques and bought this one. I almost cried when I saw that it was $7.00. Oh the things we do for a cute house. I also found some really cute Fleur De Lis ceramic hangings and a picture frame.**

**Disclaimer:  I am the cheapest human being on the planet but Sandy was so nice,  my 18 mo. old daughter Dylan was playing with a plasitc banana because she loves them so much. Well so sweet Sandy gave her a real banana out of her lunch. How could I not spend money there?!?!?!

The large frame I got at Tai Pan. Its actually a mirror the joints just split so it was 80% off. Nothing a little wood glue wont fix…..
Ceramic Owl:  $1.00
{I spray painted it white}
Smoky Glass Globe: $3.00
I ended up using that {here}

And this is what I found today:

Picture Frame: $3.00
It will be recieving a generous coat of white spray paint and mirror. Hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) complete my Wall o’ Mirrors which I will post as soon as its done……
Wood and Iron Crate: $2.00
Basically I just want to buy stuff like this now in hopes that one day I will be able to whip out something amazing like {this}

  8. WOW! I am now addicted to your blog! You have the most incredible and interesting projects going with your finds! You are my kind of woman! My husband does not understand my desires to ride through our neighborhood and jump out of the car and grab something on the side of the road and throw it in the back of my old great SUV!! It is ferociously exciting! haha..I have gotten exclusive drapes that had faded but had expensive fringe on them that was recyclable. A perfectly great chair that I am recovering, I have an old wicker rocker that I bought (ugh..but I did get them down to $25) My husband built me a new bottom and I am sewing a cushion to cover it. You make me laugh so hard! Blessings on your blog! I have never followed anyone other than my sweet niece; to see her precious children from afar ;-D Thanks so much for sharing!
